    “The after the A.G.M. buffet”
It lasted through Saturday, Sunday and Monday suppertimes’ not much cooking went on over that weekend, but much socialising did which was great fun. Thank you all for coming.
The actual A.G.M was the quickest one for years, (Jean was a very good “chair”) but yet a very constructive one. Almost a totally new committee is now in place, besides Dave remaining as Treasurer we have a new chairman Rex Wade who returned to the fold 15 years after establishing the Hobby Club. Sue and Kenn (with 2 n’s) Dalley on their very first Hobby meet stepped up bravely to jointly take on membership secretary. Congratulations you two, I hope you enjoy welcoming ALL your new members to the club. The General Secretary is now Pam Gray who keeps a wonderful blog of her and Tonys globetrotting.
On the penultimate afternoon of our meet we held a Pimms Party (see pics). The pimms was kindly provided by Pam and Tony and at last, the end of the never ending buffet goodies. No hang on, there are still nibbles etc. Held back to be served when we get to Malvern show, so it’s not yet the end of the never ending buffet!
I’d like to say a big Thank You to John and Kenn who entertained us beautifully, we all love John and his guitar and we now have a new Hobby artiste, Kenn and his ukulele, playing in a way that blows the George Formby image out of the window.
Those of us who travelled to Kenn’s UKE FEST in Leamington Spa were further educated and amazed by the 100’s of uke players there, some professional. The sounds they produced were phenomenal and a full 12 hours of music was enjoyed that Saturday in the hot summer sun. Wonderful! Those of you that missed it really need to get geared up for next year’s session which is a week later than our next 2016 A.G.M. back in Ambleside by popular request, starting Wednesday 15th June 2016.Mark you calendar now. There are rumours that we may have a Hobby uke band performance???!!!
Further details if the 2016 ukefest will be posted on the website in due course.
