    Hello,

We are thinking of replating our motorhome, raising it from 3500 to 3850. Has anyone else gone through this exercise recently, and if so did you do it yourself, or use a specialist company to do it for you? And does it cost a lot?

    Thanks,

    Nick

      Hi Nick,

I used  SVtec as well to update from 3500 to 3950 kgs. Was very easy but cost about £300. Sounds like Rick had the right idea.

      Cheers Peter

      Hi Nick,

We up-plated our van (Premium Van 65GE) in July 2014 from 3500kg to 4000kg. I completed Form VTG 10 and sent pictures of the metal plate in the engine bay that had the figures: 4000 kg, 5850kg, (1) 1850kg and (2) 2200kg stamped on it. It took about a week – cost me £15. I also had to send in the V5c reg document duly amended under Section 7. New form is probably a bit different. I even received a refund of road tax!

We replated our Hobby and used SvTec. Efficient but not cheap.
