With only a week spare before we needed to travel to Cambridge in the van, to help our daughter move into a new house, I had a moment’s lapse of sanity (yes, just the one) when I reversed under the van’s carport without winding down the Heki roof light. Crunch. I discovered that there was only one Heki Midi roof light in the entire country – and that particular vendor wanted over £625 for it. I must have spoken to very single supplier in the UK, all of whom were quoting a minimum two weeks’ delivery. Eventually a very helpful chap from Cooltech Leisure (Poole, Dorset) confirmed a stock of 17 (in Germany) but with a two day delivery for an express service.
Having the roof light in my possession wasn’t much good without someone who could fit it in a hurry. Andy Willis, of Caravan & Motorhome Solutions of Chard, agreed to sort me out. This he did, this morning, and charged only £78 which I thought very reasonable. We have used Andy Willis before (new roof, supply & fit awning, supply & fit solar panel, Fit satellite dish) and have found him to be efficient and very competitive price-wise.
Trips to Cambridge and then France are now back on schedule …
