Following on from last’s year Malvern Show meet, I have once again, booked our club in for our own area at 2018’s show. Booking opens on 11 December 2017 (a date for your new diary?). Malvern follows neatly on from Tony and Pam’s meet in Wales. Just maybe, we had a discussion about this.
For us, the Malvern Show is not just about the show but about all the other things we get up to whilst we are there, such as a drink or two, good chat and banter and maybe another picture quiz.
Steve and I will be leaving Wales on Wednesday 15th August as we have to set up the Hobby area the day before most vans are allowed in. I made a point of asking if we could have an area that is much nearer to the main show….fingers crossed.
I’ll post more about the booking system once their web site is live and I have checked that it is working.

Late in the day, but Steve and I would like to thank everyone who came to Malvern. What makes this club is the way members join in with such goodwill and enthusiasm, whether it is being part of a daft quiz, flying an areoplane, helping measure distances, helping with the scones, playing music (and singing) or being the best Naked Chef (lucky there is only one of them). Just being prepared to join together and chat, give advice or get us out of a hole with a visit to the vet. Too many examples to list every one of them. Long may it flourish.
See you, hopefully, in December. All about eyes in this house at the moment but hopefully everything with soon be clear (in every sense of the word). Happy Autumn. Maureen and Steve

      Hi Maureen & Steve

A big THANK YOU for organising a lovely weekend in Malvern, who would of thought that a sheet of paper formed into an aeroplane would bring such fun & laughter! Have to agree with Richard & Francoise regarding the mind set of certain individuals on the TV programme quiz, not sure we’d call it cryptic!!!
      See you all next year.

      Hi Maureen & Steve,

Many thanks for organising another fun event at Malvern. We really enjoyed the bacon butties, paper aeroplane flying and the TV Quiz. Although one has to wonder about the extremely cryptic mind-set of certain individuals!

      Great fun.

Not sure where to put this but thought we would let everyone know that Kenn and ukulele group, Spa Strummers, will be playing at the Warners Lincoln Motorhome Show from 20-24 September, just in case anyone was interested in coming along. They are doing 3 sets on the Saturday and Sunday in the Food Court area.

Thanks from us both for organising such a successful and fun Malvern rally. The games were brilliant, particularly the aeroplane flying competition on Sunday| Hope to meet up with all before too long.

Good afternoon. We are on our Mlavern Show Hobby area. Super position by the North Gate with water almost adjacent and loos and showers almost next door. We back onto the hedge that divides us from the MCC area (see your map). The journey took us longer than anticipated due to, seemingly, endless traffic lights for road works. I’d allow 3 hours. Their admin gave me Barry’s van number but against another name but that is now sorted out so we are 14 vans. The wind is racing off the Mlavern Hills so we have taken the Hobby flag down as it was going to blow down and we don’t want a van damaged. We have kept a space for the shelter next to hedge in the hope it gets a bit of shelter there. Look for the orange signs to find our area.
      See you tomorrow

      Good Morning
And what a sunny morning it is (again) in Somerset. I have now received our Club list from Warners and this year we have 14 vans, two more than last year.
Looking forward to seeing you there (as well as in Wales).
We kick off in Malvern with scones, clotted cream and jam at 3 p.m. on Thursday 16 August. Bring your own liquid refeeshment but plates, knives etc provided. No cost to members.
Of course you can arrive at Malvern whenever it suits you but if you are after 3.30 there may not be any afternoon tea left.

Thank you to everyone who has already posted to say they have booked in and/or plan to attend. We certainly have more than enough attending to be allocated our own area.
      Yippee.
There will be a members get together on Thursday, food of some sort provided. I’ll let you know more when I’ve decided what and timing.
There will also be a repeat of the very popular Sunday morning bacon rolls (or vegetarian option).
Two new (optional to participate) competitions. I know what these are but you will find out when you arrive.
There is a proposal, in the very early stage of planning, by the Committee, for a potential new members get together on Saturday, as we have had in previous years.
Looking forward to it all, including the AGM.
      Best wishes
      Maureen and Steve

Just booked via the Out & About Live website for the full duration.

Has anyone any suggestions where we could move onto on the Monday (other than work) as it would be ideal to make at least a fortnight of it, starting with Aberystwyth.

      Hello Nick and Ruth,
In answer to your question and for the benefit of other members, yes you do have to book as an individual on the Out & About Live website.
For Malvern only, select Club Camping and in the drop down list we are listed as Hobby OC.
As Maureen has stated earlier, when asked for club membership number, simply entering 0 (zero) or indeed N/A will suffice.
For all other Warners shows throughout 2018 where we are not currently planned to make an appearance as a club, it would be necessary to book into another camping area such as General Camping.

H folks – we have said yes to Aberystwyth and we would like to go on to Malvern too. We’ve not been there before do we need to make our own booking on the out and about website or do we do it here through Hobby club???

      Hi all,
Keith and I are going to Peterborough and camping with The Caravan and Camping club. Then on to Dover after. The reason for us going to Peterborough is that I overbooked Malvern last year and Warner won’t refund so I had to find another show to go too, to use up the booking we had. If anybody interested we will be there.

      Hi Mike and Lin
Malvern is certainly happening in 2018 but not Peterborough. Kenn put all the Warner Show dates as possibles but I think, currently, it is just the Malvern date for Hobby group, this doesn’t exclude others being added st some point?
Hope to see you again soon. We are just back from a weekend away in the van when we found a number of niggles that need sorting.
a.s.a.p. We have acquired a split on the inner skin of our big fixed front skylight…..deep sigh.
      Bes wishes

Thank you to all who have already let us know if you (or aren’t) coming to Malvern. I have just booked in via the Out and About Live web site and it is all working well. Please don’t be concerned when it asks for your membership number. Your membership card may have slipped down a dark recess in your van if yours is anythimng like ours. If you put in 0 the web site is happy.
Happy new year and hope to see some of you in Dover in April.

      Hello Maureen

Unfortunately Christine and I will not be able to attend at Malvern as we have a group of over 40 French visitors to entertain in Norfolkover the same period. Hope you get a good attendance from the other Hobbyists.
