    Hello to all Hobby members.

Here is a date for your diary, our committee planned meet in Ambleside.

Arrive anytime from Wednesday 24th June until departure anytime up to Wednesday 1st July 2015.

We hope as many members as possible will join us during our 7 night meet which will incorporate this year’s A.G.M. on Saturday 27th June. The Hobby club does benefit from your support and involvement, which is vital for development of fresh ideas.

As usual there will be a free buffet after the A.G.M., a games and supper evening sometime during the week and even perhaps a Takeaway evening which has been very popular at previous meets here.

    PROGRAMME OF MEETS FOR 2015

Do you know of any sites or land that would welcome a Hobby meet?
Do you have a suggestion for a pre or follow on meet to this one?
Suggestions are needed so that our events diary can be scheduled to cover this year. Members would enjoy visiting your location, a variation on the usual meeting places would be welcomed. There is no obligation to arrange anything, other than permission to camp there.

Will you put your suggested sites here on our forum as a reply to this post? THANKS.

Oophs! Just realised that we haven’t posted anything on this thread but as we are the present (but retiring) Chair and General Secretary we will be attending the AGM. Maybe we just took it as read!

Looking forward to the week. Hope we get a good turnout and good weather.

Ambleside Meet 24th July to 1st July 2015
Many thanks to those members who have already expressed their intention to attend.
As the weeks are flying by it would be useful if you would confirm your wish to join us as soon as possible. We need to know numbers for catering purposes.
Here is some useful information to those of you who don’t know the area yet, and possibly interesting to those who regularly come to our meet here. Transport at this venue is not necessary, it is a short walk into the town centre and a bus service is available adjacent to the venue. It is only a short stroll to board the steamer for a trip on Lake Windermere. http://www.windermere-lakecruises.co.uk/cruises-fares
For general info from Lake District National Park hq@lakedistrict.gov.uk
Tackle Scafell or Helvellyn, or take a Wainwrights’ Walk, but you may need to take his 7 volumes of “A pictorial guide to the Lakeland Fells” with you. If you’d rather have a guided walk then there are many to be found on the web.
Grasmere Gingerbread – A local delicacy may tickle your taste buds, and then why not visit the nearby garden centre for a coffee?
Another Lakeland sweet treat is at Cartmel, the home of the deliciously famous Sticky Toffee Pudding. http://www.cartmelvillageshop.co.uk Take some home for friends and family. Combine your trip to Cartmel with a visit to Holker Hall. http://www.holker-hall.co.uk
Other grand houses include Brockhole House with its Tree Top Trek, between Ambleside and Bowness also Hutton in the Forest. http://www.hutton-in-the-forest.co.uk
Take a picnic to Winlatter Forest and Visitor Centre, Keswick.
Friday 26th June. Kendal Farmers Market 9.30am.to 3.30pm.
If you need to wet your whistle in Keswick, try a brewery tour. Keswick breweries will be glad to show you around http://www.keswickbrewery.co.uk or over in Cockermouth, Jennings Brewery http://www.jenningsbrewery.co.uk/tours

      Hi Christine
Would just like to send apologies as we cannot attend this year as it clashes with our holiday abroad.
We are both really disappointed as we are always made so welcome and I really relaxed for the week we were there last year .
Hopefully other meets will be arranged this year and we can all catch up again, best wishes to all for a great time .
      Regards Jim and Doris

Ed. & Vera have decided to attend the Ambleside meet and AGM again this year but we are not looking forward to the long journey. We have always enjoyed this meet as there is so much to do close at hand. Ten minutes walk into town, lots of different restaurants to try, trips on the lake to name a few. Oh and the AGM Buffet is superb.
What we would hope for most of all would be to see some new members attending.
See you all there and we will be staying for the seven nights

We have already replied to this post but it seems to have disappeared into the ether !!!

so just want to confirm that we would like to attend the Ambleside AGM meet in June. Not sure as yet how many days we will be able to be there but defo for the AGM.  Would also like to know more about the site facilities – hook up, services etc.  Is there a website?

Also mentioned in previous reply that we are organising the 3rd Leamington Spa Ukefest on Saturday 4th July……..any members who feel ukulele inclined (it really is fun) would be welcome as there is a free car park adjacent……would recommend coming here friday afternoon to get pitched and there is  prefest  entertainment in the evening……….. see website for detailed info :

would be useful to know numbers & happy to answer any questions

      look forward to meeting up

Sadly we can’t join you in June as the date clashes with the Glastonbury Festival, that is held in Pilton, the village we live in.
Looking forward to meeting some other Hobby owners at the Malvern Show in August.
