I own A Hobby Premium GF55, 63 reg. The charger has just given up. I am considering buying an updated Dometic MCA1225 charger, that is much cheaper and more modern than the duff one. Has anyone had this problem and had a successful repair made? The problem with buying new is that the plugs and sockets are not the same. Can the incumbent plugs be converted/adapted to fit the newer version? Fingers crossed!

      Hello Geoff and Anna,

We are currently on mobile broadband but I did manage to download the installation instructions and schematic for the MCA1225.
As yet I have been unable to find any similar information regarding the CA360.
If the CA360 has data bus connections similar to the LIN1 LIN2 ports on the MCA1225 then I would not envisage a problem.
Peter Runagall may be well placed to confirm this.
The Hobby manual does make reference to the LIN data bus so I suspect that is the control interface that has been adopted.
The LIN data bus connector is the RJ45 type as found on network ports to the rear of a router / home hub.
There may be extra battery connections on the MCA1225 over and above the CA360 but that should not pose a problem.
If you were able to make it to either the Nottinghamshire or Lincolnshire meets then I should be able to provide a definitive answer.
If you find any relevant information on the CA360 in the meantime, please post a link here.
