How do you fancy a 5 night meet at Warwick for the Dates Wednesday 3rd December leaving Monday 8th December.
There is lots to do nearby, including The NEC, Motorcycle Museum and Christmas shopping at Birmingham markets.
The train station for Birmingham and Coventry is near to the site.

But best of all, our club has had an invite from Stonebridge Golf Club which shares a driveway with Somers Wood Caravan Park, so is within walking distance. They have invited us to a ’70s and 80s Boogie Night with Disco and Buffet’ at a cost of £17 per head.

The golf club is very modern and very clean. We did have a buffet provided there last Christmas which was brilliant.
Unfortunately, last year the majority of our crowd left the venue early in order to watch the ‘Strictly Final’ on TV back in their own vans !! This somewhat put a dampener on the evening. Hopefully, Strictly will be banned from TV this year, in any event boogieing the night away should be much more fun especially if we all turned up in 70s fashion !!! Erics dance card should be full.
If we can get 12 names (6 couples) booked for this ‘boogie’ event before 30th August then there is a 10% discount on offer.

The site, Somers Wood Caravan Park which we stayed at last December is a good site with lovely heated facilities. Their tariff for December this year is £19 per night including electric, but I am sure I could negotiate a discount with the site owner if we have enough interest. You don’t have to stay the full 5 nights if you don’t want to or can’t for any reason.

Please reply here if you are interested, but hurry up if you want us to be able to secure a discount.

      IMPORTANT UPDATE TO THIS TOPIC

The proposed Pre Christmas meet at Warwick which was originally to be from Thursday 4th December to Monday 8th December has had to be rescheduled for one week later. The dates are now, arriving Thursday 11th December and departing on the morning of Tuesday 16th December, 5 nights stay in total. It is not necessary to stay the full 5 nights.
This is because the ‘Boogie Night’ Golf Club function is now fully booked. You / we have missed the boat.
However, on the night of Friday 12th December, the Golf Club are hosting their ‘Sounds of the Decades’ disco which is to include a 3 course meal @ £23.00 per head. I am sure this is better value than the previous weeks buffet @ £17.00 per head. I have checked with all members who expressed an interest in the previous function and all are OK with this. Accordingly, I have today booked 10 places for this function.
If you are tempted to join us, please post your interest here or contact me direct as soon as possible. These do’s seem very popular.

I have today spoken to the camping site and negotiated a discount on our behalf. The normal fee is £19.00 per night but as a special price, anyone attending the full 5 nights will be charged £80.00 to include electric hook up, equivalent to £16.00 per night.
Somers Wood Caravan Park requires a £15.00 per van deposit to secure a pitch and the Golf Club venue require a £10.00 per person deposit.

I intend paying the necessary deposits, next Friday 26th September, for those who have confirmed their interest to date. Bookings after this date may not be accepted.

      Hi John and Barbara,
So pleased you may be able to join us at Warwick.
I had a phone call last week from Pat and Eric who also expressed a wish to attend but for some reason were unable to post here. Eric is currently ‘limbering up’
As the numbers are increasing I will continue my negotiations with both the site and venue and report back here.

Hi all, has anyone been to the Bath Christmas Market? If so could you recommend a campsite. It starts on the Thursday 27th Nov –  Sunday 14th December, not sure which days we’ll be going, has anyone else thought of going? Sadly we’re unable to make the Warwick rally.
