Hi, has anybody fitted Air Suspension on a Alko Tag Axle? Ours is a Hobby 750 on a Fiat Ducato 2.8 year 2002. If so was it successful? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Morning Richard & Tony

Thanks for the information, I’ve been in contact with ‘AS Air Suspension UK’ who seemed to be the “Dogs” they manufacture their own brackets, but as soon as they knew it was on ‘Drum’ brakes, no go, never mind. With all this information our conclusion is to carry less bottles of wine & to fill the water tank with rose wine!!!

      Thanks, see you in December.

      Tony,
During my enquiries I have found that to fit air suspension to a tag Hobby older than 2006 is only done by the company Dunlop, which doesn’t warrant the costs. The brake drums are in the way for the other specialist companies. (So I have been told).
I have replaced the rear suspension units (Four) for £70 a pair and as we suspected it didn’t make any difference to the height. However after 18 years I felt it was money well spent. After 18 years of use, I had to use all my muscle power and heat to remove the bolts. (Who needs to join a gym!).
      Keep smiling TC

      Hi Tony,

We had air suspension (rear only) fitted to our Premium Van from new (Goldschmidt). Not quite a tag axle, but successful in itself. Unfortunately I cannot compare with leaf springs only as I have never driven without the air suspension. We find an additional use which is to give us greater clearance when entering/exiting our drive, which is a steep incline off the road. I pump up the pressure to ensure the towing hook clears the road.
