Following my distribution by email of the recent subscription reminder I have been contacted by a member who on attempting to use internet banking was met with a refusal.
The reason being was that their banking website would only allow a maximum of 18 digits in the payee field.
The name Independent Association of Hobbyists was obviously too long.
I am reliably informed that it would be OK to abbreviate the club name to IAH
IAH is simply the reference that appears on your own bank statement.
The most important information is the clubs sort code and account number which I can assure you are correct, plus of course your name as a reference, which is the only identifier that appears on the clubs bank statement for obvious reasons.
The above advice also applies for the purpose of telephone banking if necessary.
