Hello again to everyone,
I am currently on site at Hemmingfield Cattery having spent last night at The Grouse and Claret, Rowsley on my way here.
The Grouse and Claret have a have had a price increase since my last visit and it is currently £22 per night to include electric hook up.
The deal I have discussed with regard to our proposed pre Christmas meet for the dates arriving anytime after noon on Wednesday 7th December 2016 and departing anytime before noon on Wednesday 14th December 2016 is:
Stay the full seven nights at a cost of £100 (equivalent to £14.28 per night) to include electric hook up and be pitched on hard standing. There will be a 3 for 2 offers on at that time of year, so if you can only stay 3 nights for instance, expect to pay £44, 6 nights £88, and 2 nights, obviously the full £44.
As mentioned previously, there are showers, toilets, washing up and cassette emptying facilities on site.
I have been given a few flyers that detail their Christmas Fayre menu which will be available for handout at Malvern should you require one but I am assured it is already downloadable from their website. Briefly, 3 courses £16.99 2 courses £14.99. This is not a special camping deal, it is available to everyone.
The daily menus at The Grouse and Claret which I previously provided links to, will still be available at that time of year, including their £6 menu and their breakfast menu. Not sure whether all of these special menus include 20% discount for campers. Do check yourself before ordering.
As a reminder, there is a bus stop external to the site. The Peak Shopping outlet is a stroll across the pub car park, The Cauldwell Craft Centre is across the road and Chatsworth is but a short drive. Chatsworth are promoting the transformation of the house with their Christmas displays, beginning 5th November 2016. Look at http://www.chatsworth.org
Denby Pottery Village is close by as is Haddon Hall.
Peak Rail offer special events and through December a Christmas lunch menu is available should wish to dine on the train. Their schedule includes special events over the weekend of 10th and 11th of December, when we propose to be there. Their events calendar can be viewed at http://www.peakrail.co.uk and does offer a 10% discount for groups of over 15 people.
The town of Matlock is 4 miles away, Bakewell is 4 miles in the other direction and Buxton about 5 miles further than Bakewell.
I have not done any research with regard to other Christmas festivities in the surrounding towns but a web search would surely reveal this.
Hopes this proves useful.
Ronnie
